Hosted by the Department of City and Regional Planning at Gazi University, the Accessible Urban Neighborhoods (AUN2026) International Conference was successfully held between October 21-23, 2026, as part of Gazi University's 100th-anniversary events.

The first day of the event took place at the Gazi University Concert Hall on the Beşevler Campus. The program commenced with opening speeches by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ülkü Duman, the Head of the Department of City and Regional Planning, Prof. Dr. Ebru V. Öcalır, and Prof. Dr. Hermann Knoflacher. Following the keynote speech by Dr. Samira Ramezani, the day continued with afternoon thematic sessions. A major highlight of the first day was the Slow Bicycle Riding Activity, organized in collaboration with the Ankara Bicycle Council and the Gazi Bicycle Society. This activity not only added color to the event but also raised valuable awareness among the participants and the campus community.

The Faculty of Architecture's Maltepe Campus hosted the second day of the conference. Following the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. İlhan Tekeli, parallel sessions were held in the Yükseliş Hall and the Engineering Faculty seminar halls. Numerous esteemed researchers and experts delivered presentations centered around core conference themes such as accessibility, spatial justice, the 15-minute city, active mobility, inclusive transport, and neighborhood-based sustainable design. Additionally, poster presentations were exhibited throughout the day in the Yükseliş Hall exhibition area.

On the final day, the conference started with parallel sessions in the same halls, followed by a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Eduarda Marques da Costa. The closing session featured a 100th-anniversary speech by Prof. Dr. Nilgün Görer Tamer, the reading of the conference declaration by Prof. Dr. Özge Yalçıner Ercoşkun, and concluded with a closing and thank-you speech by Prof. Dr. Ebru V. Öcalır.
